These are active holidays and it is therefore very important to choose an itinerary that is right for you. We give each of our holidays a difficulty grade, and supply the number of walking days and daily distance. Our grade 1 and 2 walks are at a much more relaxed pace with plenty of time to stop and relax en-route. Our grade 3 and 4 walks are longer days on rougher ground with some pretty steep sections.
Walks: 3-6 hours
Paths: Good paths, not too steep.
Walks have a relaxed pace with time to take in the views and surroundings. You don’t need much walking experience, as long as you’re a reasonably fit and active person these walks will be perfect for you.
Walks: 4-8 hours
Paths: Good with some steeper sections
Slightly longer walks than grade 1 with routes still on good paths and at a relaxed pace although there are normally some steeper sections. Ideal for those who walk regularly and have a reasonably good standard of fitness.
Walks: 5-10 hours
Paths: Rockier, steeper paths
For those that like longer days higher up in the mountains. Routes are steep in places and a good standard of fitness is required.
Walks: 6-10 hours
High mountain paths that may require the use of crampons during certain months of the year. Previous hiking experience in the mountains and a very good level of fitness essential.
