How do I get there?
Guests arrange their own flights to Girona Airport. We meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation in the village. It is only about 45 minutes drive from the airport to the village.
Girona is now a main hub airport for Ryanair which now operates many daily flights throughout the year. Referred as Barcelona (Girona) (don't get confused with Barcelona (Reus). Ryanair’s website they offer daily flights from the following airports - Stansted, Luton, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Liverpool, Blackpool, Doncaster, Newcastle, Durham Teeside, Glasgow Prestwick and Dublin. Ryanair can be contacted on www.ryanair.com
What equipment do I need to bring with me?
Your most important item is, of course, a pair of comfortable walking boots with ankle support and a sole that provides grip, as some of the terrain can be rugged at times. It can be a little cold - so you should bring some warm clothing.
And, just in case . . . a lightweight waterproof. We hope you won't need it. Mostly we will be walking in dry weather, in warm sunshine, so casual, comfortable, summer clothes will generally suffice. A hat and sun protection cream is essential. A small rucksack for carrying lunch is also recommended and you might consider a walking stick, as some of the ground is a bit rough.
Is the accommodation comfortable?
Located in the heart of the village built on the ruins of the former home of the Count of Castello, Casa Clara offers all the comforts to make your stay on our holiday a memorable one
Do I have to be fit?
You will need to be reasonably fit, but we want our guests to enjoy rather than endure their holiday so that you do not need to be super-fit. All our walks are graded 'easy' to 'moderate' . Please call us if you need more advice.
Is the whole group expected to be of the same walking capability and experience?
We do try to arrange our walks so that we can cater for people of different capabilities, we normally provide two guides on our walks, one at the front and one at the back.
What happens if I injure myself on a walk?
Our guides are trained in first-aid. They also carry mobile telephones so that help can be contacted if necessary.
